The total import cargo of 121,765 tonnes comprised of 37,580 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,027 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,995 tonnes of Canola; 5,363 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds and 74,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,540 tonnes comprised of 8,361 tonnes of containerised cargo; 495 tonnes of bulk cargo; 12,700 tonnes of clinker; 4,984 tonnes of rice and 3ooo tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,766 containers comprising of 3,019 containers import and 747 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 578 of 20's and 1,063 of 40's loaded while 05 of 20's and 155 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 249 of 20's and 180 of 40's loaded containers while 00 of 20's and 155 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely MS Tiger, Jo Ask, Oriental Sakura, Ken Kon and Ningbo Express carrying containers, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. Ken Kon, M.T Lahore, Glorious, Ningbo Ametrine Xin Xia Min, Navig 8 and KMTC Dubai carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 177,947 tonnes comprising 162,177 tonnes of import cargo and 15,770 tonnes of export cargo including 1,776 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 162,177 tonnes includes 17,974 tonnes of containerized cargo, 30,650 tonnes of LNG; 1,909 tonnes of LPG; 30,407 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,000 tonnes of palm oil; 41,299 tonnes of coal, 18,840 tonnes of steel coil 15,648 tonnes of canola seeds and 450 tonnes of Bitumen.
The total export cargo of 15.770 tonnes includes 15,770 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,776 containers comprising of 1,776 containers (TEUs) 9946teuS import and 830 TEUs export) handled during the last 24 hours.
Eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths to load/unload containers, coal, canola seeds, bitumen, steel coil, LPG, LNG, palm oil and diesel oil respectively.
Three ships MSC Kwang Yong, UACC Ibn Sina, and Mesaimee sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning and two more ships Shoveir and MSC Sana are expected to soil on same day in after noon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Mediterranean Bridge, CV MSC Maeva, CV Newark, MV Pan Oceanis, MV Kirri Billi, MT Epic Sardina, MT White Purl, MT Kano and MT Al Khattiya were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, canola seeds, LPG and LNG respectively during the last 24 hours.
